If you're juggling several courses acquire the credits you need to get a B Tech degree, you may need to make a schedule or timetable to ensure that you are not falling behind on your work. A store-bought calendar may be all you need. Each time you are given a deadline, mark this date on the calendar and then organize what tasks must be completed to meet the target and work out how long each one will take. Mark on the calendar when you must start each task and when it must be completed. Illinois State University recommends keeping track of every grade and quiz score you receive.

Taking Notes

  • When in lectures, you may be told a lot of important information quickly and it may not seem easy at first to decide which are the most vital facts you'll need, but it is useful to learn how to prioritize. Try bullet pointing the information you are given and write down the subheadings and headings that your lecturer uses to file your notes under so that the facts are organized and easy to refer to. Make sure you only write down the key information as your tutor talks and make your notes succinct, otherwise you could end up missing vital parts of the lecture because you are too busy writing.

Keep Your Notes Organized

Try organizing all of your notes into a ring binder, using dividers to separate between topics and courses so that you know exactly where to look if you need to fish out facts from weeks ago. Use a different ring binder for each year of your B Tech course, or each term if you are taking a lot of notes. This will stop your folder from becoming too unwieldy and confusing to use. However, you may need to keep all of the binders after each term or year finishes as you may still need to refer to your old notes.
